By Night Studios is proud to be the official licensed publisher for new Mind’s Eye Theatre products for White Wolf’s World of Darkness setting. We are a New Orleans-based company with a singular mission: to usher in a renaissance for the World of Darkness Mind’s Eye Theatre experience. Our founders and staff are all long-time fans of the World of Darkness and enthusiastic advocates of Live Action games. They include game industry professionals who for almost two decades have been involved in the creation and promotion of World of Darkness products and Mind’s Eye Theatre events.
White Wolf’s Mind’s Eye Theatre debuted in 1993, helping to usher in an entirely new era of immersive and interactive entertainment, and adding a vibrant, interactive dimension to the roleplaying game hobby. Legions of Mind’s Eye Theatre fans around the world have been waiting patiently for an updated version of their favorite Live Action game – and now they’ll get it. A wealth of defining material from over two decades of the iconic World of Darkness game setting will be used as the basis for a new line of Mind’s Eye Theatre products.
By Night Studios carries on White Wolf’s legacy. Our first release, Mind’s Eye Theatre: Vampire the Masquerade, is a 550 page monster of a core book. It is more than just an update to the classic franchise. It has been rebuilt from the ground up as a product specifically for the Live-Action Role Play audience.

Jason has been managing game projects and properties for a couple of decades: at Wizards of the Coast, Microsoft Game Studios, and Wunderman Digital Marketing. He’s also been a contributing writer to Mind’s Eye Theatre books including Laws of the Night Revised, Laws of the Night Camarilla Guide, and Laws of the Hunt, as well as Dungeons & Dragons Third Edition. Although he oversees book development for the By Night Studios team, there is no truth to the rumor that he has approved a new Brujah clan flaw that requires the aid of an inflatable [redacted by the Ventrue Council].
Elissa is an award-winning digital strategist. She has worked primarily in music; both in the recording studio with bands such as Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, Linkin Park and Slayer; and on the road at Warped Tour, Bamboozle, and more. She founded the Online Marketing department for Machinima, serving as their Director. She currently manages the social presences for over 350 top celebrities and musicians at theAudience. She also currently is the butt of every “hardy har har Brujah” joke at By Night Studios and is thiiiiiiiiis close to frenzy.
A veteran of the entertainment industry for nearly two decades, Shane has worked in comics, games, TV, and film. Shane holds a unique place in Vampire: The Masquerade history, having worked with Vampire in every published medium. Shane helped re-launch the Vampire: The Eternal Struggle TCG at Wizards of the Coast in 1996. He helped launch Vampire: The Masquerade Revised Edition in 1998. He contributed to the initial concept outline of Laws of the Night Revised in 1999, and in 2003 was recruited back to the franchise to become the Community Manager for Activision’s award winning Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines. In 2007, Shane began producing events and destination experiences for CCP Games. Shane then joined CCP full time as its World of Darkness Community Developer. Shane has executive produced more than fifty World of Darkness events on three continents, including the 2010 and 2011 Grand Masquerade conventions in New Orleans. There is an old game industry proverb that states “never, ever let White Wolf choose the bar.” Spend a night out drinking with Shane and you’ll quickly learn to take that proverb seriously.
Ric Connely is an event organizer and content creator with nearly 15 years’ experience across multiple media streams. Working as both a professional wrestler and a story writer, Ric was responsible for performing and generating content for live events (from 500 to 20,000 attendees), a weekly syndicated television series, and pay-per-view broadcasts. He’s directly managed some of the largest Mind’s Eye Theatre fan events over the last decade, and is an active freelance author in the RPG industry.
Jen works as the Publications Manager for a legal bar association, serving as managing editor for a law magazine and as project manager for a variety of legal reference manuals – she knows a little something about making sure rules read correctly on a page. She also has 15 years of publishing and corporate communications experience, and has edited books and magazines on a wide variety of topics, including home remodeling, fine jewelry, nutrition science and much more. Her role at By Night Studios is to ensure that “Page XX” never, ever makes an appearance!
Savvy entrepreneur and talented litigator combining 15 years’ achievement in diverse areas of jurisprudence with a demonstrated track record of success driving business development and revenue growth in startup environments. Highly visible community leader with 7 years’ experience as New Orleans’ Deputy City Attorney. Seasoned and outcome-oriented leader with proven business acumen who utilizes broad-scope legal expertise to analyze regulatory framework and create business growth strategies that impact the bottom line. Bob enjoyed the privilege of formally welcoming the Grand Masquerade convention to New Orleans, Louisiana in 2010.
Jason has been a contributing writer to such RPGs as Call of Cthulhu, Shadowrun, and Vampire: The Masquerade. His most recent projects include Hunters Hunted 2, Anarchs Unbound, Blood Rites (The Onyx Path) and Atomic Age Cthulhu: Terrifying Tales of the Mythos Menace (Chaosium). His fiction has appeared in Shine: An Anthology of Optimistic SF (Harper Collins), Frontier Cthulhu: Ancient Horrors in the New World (Chaosium), and IN SITU (Dagan Books). In 2011, his story “Moonlight in Scarlet” received an honorable mention in Ellen Datlow’s List for Best Horror of the Year. Yes, the Kickstarter funded and yes, he bought his wife a pug.
An award-winning writer, game designer, and author of more than 16 novels in a wide variety of fantastic worlds, including the ever-popular Dragonlance saga. Ree has been nominated for multiple Origins Awards. She is currently a Narrative Designer for ArenaNet on the internationally-acclaimed MMORPG Guild Wars 2. She was a contributing author to Clanbook: Lasombra, Clanbook: Tremere, House Tremere (Dark Ages), and the MET Sabbat Guide. Ree holds a Masters’ degree in Myth and Literature, performed her doctorate studies at UNC-Chapel Hill, and hopes one day to diablerize Mithras, Prince of London, after a series of insanely one-sided monomacy challenges.
A professional RPG, CCG, and MMORPG game designer, Kevin’s credits range from Stargate SG1 and Spycraft to the popular MMORPG Guild Wars 2. He’s been a professional game designer for more than a decade, lending his talents to games such as 7th Sea, Brave New World, Deadlands, and d20 source books for AEG Publishing. He’s been a Mind’s Eye Theatre Storyteller for 15 years, and we’re not entirely sure he’s mortal.
